The Paisr Payment Gateway is a unified payment infrastructure that lets businesses of all sizes accept payments from a wide range of local and international methods — without integrating with each provider separately. Paisr handles compliance, reconciliation, and provider integrations so you can focus on delivering great payment experiences to your customers.
Understanding Payments
A payment represents an attempt to collect funds through a specific payment method. In Paisr, payments can exist in two forms:
-
Linked payments are tied to an invoice and inherit their configuration — amount, currency, and metadata — directly from it. Once a linked payment is approved, the invoice is automatically marked as paid and funds are credited to your wallet at settlement.
-
Unlinked payments exist independently of any invoice. They are useful when you want to accept a payment without going through the invoicing flow — for example, in a point-of-sale context or when integrating with an external order management system.
Payment Methods
Paisr supports multiple payment methods across two categories:
- Built-in methods — directly integrated with Paisr and available with no additional setup.
- External methods — third-party providers whose APIs are integrated with Paisr but require credentials from your own provider account before they can be activated.
Each payment method has dedicated documentation covering its setup, configuration, and supported currencies. See the Payment Methods section for the full list.
You can manage which payment methods are active for your account from the Payment Methods section in your dashboard or via the Providers API.
Integration Options
There are two ways to accept payments with Paisr:
Hosted Checkout
The Paisr Hosted Checkout is a free, managed payment interface that supports all active payment methods out of the box. When you create an invoice, a unique checkout URL is generated:
https://invoices.paisr.tech/<session_token>Share this URL with your customer to let them complete payment. The checkout session expires 30 minutes after generation. Once payment is approved, the invoice is automatically marked as paid.
Use Hosted Checkout if you:
- Want a no-code or low-code integration
- Want to offer multiple payment methods without additional frontend work
- Don't want to handle sensitive payment data directly
Payments API
For more control, initiate and track payments programmatically using the Payments API. The response shape varies by method — wallet and bank payments return a redirect URL, card payments settle synchronously, and QR-based methods return a scannable code with a deep link.
Use the Payments API if you:
- Need to embed payments into a custom frontend or native mobile app
- Are automating payment collection as part of a larger workflow
- Need fine-grained control over the payment experience
For pre-built integrations, see the Integrations section.
Settlement & Reconciliation
Once a payment is approved, funds are credited to your wallet balance at settlement. Please refer to each payment method's documentation for the time to settlement.
Payments received while your business verification is incomplete are held and released once verification is approved or refunded.
Monitoring Payments
View all payment activity from the Payments → Transactions section in your dashboard. For programmatic access, use the Payments API to list and filter payments by status, method, currency, or date range.
Subscribe to payment webhook events for real-time notifications:
